Year 10-12 is an important step on a student’s journey to HSC success. Students are normally yet to decide on areas of interest or university/career paths, or yet to establish a personal identity.
Consider the rapidly changing world, especially in post COVID. We need to be prepared to face situations that we have no prior experience or have never seen before. Hence, to thrive in the future, we need to be flexible and adaptable.
This short course will provide Year 10 - 12 students with an overview of the world of branding. Most importantly, to understand how design thinking is used to drive brand innovation. Students are guided by UC academics, giving them an inside glimpse of how brands are being managed and the challenges (and excitement) that comes with it.It promises to be a fun learning whilst providing a 'taste' of tertiary education.
After successful completion of the course, students will be:
Open to all students in Years 10, 11 & 12.

Here he was placed on the McDonald’s International Division and was in a team which managed their global branding (and communication) campaigns. Thereafter he went on to manage other brands in the Asia-Pacific region (i.e. Visa International, Shell, KFC, Nestle, Citibank, Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz), the latter 2 as Regional Group Brand Director. He spent 14 years in the corporate world while his current career in academia spans 19 years (and counting). Dr Cheah currently holds a Bachelor and Master in Marketing Communication, and a PhD in Economics.
Don’t let your ATAR define you. At UC, we know ATARs aren't everything. Thanks to Portfolio Entry, if you've got the will to get into university, we've got the way.
The UC Creative Competition celebrates the creativity of Year 11 and 12 students from across Australia.
